Details

A gooseneck wall sconce in solid brass with a brushed, matte finish. A round flat backplate with small side screws holds a slim arm that comes straight out from the wall, then curves up and over into a wide, shallow cone shade with a pointed top. The bulb sits just under the shade, so a globe bulb stays partly on show.

A simple, slightly farmhouse shape for a hallway, a bathroom mirror or a reading spot beside a bed. The brushed finish has a soft, low-shine look that shows fewer marks than polished brass.

Care and patina

Dust the brushed brass with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. See our Care and Patina Guide for more.

Size and hanging guide

Choosing a size. Pick the diameter in the selector above. As a rough guide, an 8 to 12 in shade suits a small island, a bedside or a breakfast nook, 14 to 18 in suits a standard island or dining table, and 22 in works as a single centrepiece over a large table.

  • Kitchen islands: hang two or three pendants evenly spaced, with the bottom of each shade about 30 to 36 in above the counter.
  • Dining tables: hang the bottom of the shade about 30 to 34 in above the tabletop, and choose a shade about half to two thirds of the table width.
  • Cord length: measure from the ceiling to where you want the bottom of the shade, then choose the next cord length up.

Wiring and bulbs. Socket type and bulb details are listed in each product description. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Not sure which size or cord length? Send us your ceiling height and your table or island size and we will suggest one.

Craftsmanship

Every shade is shaped and hammered by hand in our workshop in Fes, Morocco, a city where coppersmiths have worked the metal for centuries. Small variations in the hammer marks and patina are what make each piece one of a kind.

Materials and care

Solid copper or brass. Raw finishes deepen into a natural patina over time, while oxidized and bronze finishes are made to look aged from the start. Switch the light off and let the shade cool, then dust it with a soft dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Read our Care and Patina Guide.

Shipping and returns

Frequently asked questions

Will the colour change over time?
Raw copper and brass develop a living patina that deepens and warms. Oxidized and bronze finishes already look aged and change more slowly.

Can you make a custom size or cord length?
Yes. Contact us with what you need and we will make it to order in Fes.

Is a bulb included?
Bulb and socket details are in each product description. Unless it says otherwise, the bulb is not included.

Do I need an electrician?
Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended for ceiling lights.

Where does it ship from?
Ready to ship pieces leave our New Jersey warehouse. The rest are hand-hammered to order in Fes, about 2 weeks in the workshop. The delivery note beside Add to cart shows which applies.
