Brass & Basin sinks are hand-hammered in a small artisan workshop in Fes, Morocco, using a technique passed down through generations of coppersmiths and metalworkers.
The Craft
Each sink starts as a flat sheet of raw copper or brass. Working entirely by hand, hammer and anvil, our artisans shape, planish, and finish every piece over several days. No molds, no mass production. Small variations in hammer texture are part of the piece, not a flaw.
Why Fes
Fes has been a center of metalwork for centuries. We work directly with the artisans there, the same sourcing relationships behind our sister brand, Handtile, which brings handmade zellige tile to the US.
Built to Age
We leave our sinks unlacquered, so the finish is free to live and change the way solid metal always has. What you buy is a piece that gets better, and more personal, every year you own it.
