Details

A tall teardrop table lamp in solid brass, shaped like a flame that tapers up to a slim pointed spire. The whole body is hand-pierced with a fine Moroccan filigree of scrolls, rosettes and leaf shapes, and it stands on a round, stepped brass base with the cord leaving from the bottom.

Lit, it glows warmly through the cut-outs and throws a lace of patterned light across the wall and table, so it works beautifully on a nightstand, a console or a sideboard in the evening. The brass is unlacquered, so it starts bright and slowly darkens to a soft aged patina unless you polish it.

Care and patina

Dust with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush to reach into the cut-outs. Unlacquered brass is a living finish: polish it to keep it bright, or leave it to darken naturally. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. See our Care and Patina Guide for the full routine.

Frequently asked questions

Is a bulb included?
No. The lamp takes an E14 bulb, sold separately.

Does it come with a plug?
No. A plug for your home (Type A or Type B) needs to be fitted to the cord. Contact us for wiring details.

Will the brass change colour?
Yes. Unlacquered brass slowly darkens to a soft aged patina. Polish it whenever you want it bright again.

How it compares: Our Pierced Brass Cylinder Table Lamp uses the same hand-piercing and E14 socket, but it is a slim straight cylinder with an open top and comes in brushed or unlacquered brass. This one is a taller, rounder teardrop with a pointed spire top, in unlacquered brass only.

Size and hanging guide

Choosing a size. Pick the diameter in the selector above. As a rough guide, an 8 to 12 in shade suits a small island, a bedside or a breakfast nook, 14 to 18 in suits a standard island or dining table, and 22 in works as a single centrepiece over a large table.

  • Kitchen islands: hang two or three pendants evenly spaced, with the bottom of each shade about 30 to 36 in above the counter.
  • Dining tables: hang the bottom of the shade about 30 to 34 in above the tabletop, and choose a shade about half to two thirds of the table width.
  • Cord length: measure from the ceiling to where you want the bottom of the shade, then choose the next cord length up.

Wiring and bulbs. Socket type and bulb details are listed in each product description. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Not sure which size or cord length? Send us your ceiling height and your table or island size and we will suggest one.

Craftsmanship

Every shade is shaped and hammered by hand in our workshop in Fes, Morocco, a city where coppersmiths have worked the metal for centuries. Small variations in the hammer marks and patina are what make each piece one of a kind.

Materials and care

Solid copper or brass. Raw finishes deepen into a natural patina over time, while oxidized and bronze finishes are made to look aged from the start. Switch the light off and let the shade cool, then dust it with a soft dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Read our Care and Patina Guide.

Shipping and returns

Our lights are hand-hammered to order in Fes, and we confirm timing with you before production. See our shipping policy and refund policy.

Frequently asked questions

Will the colour change over time?
Raw copper and brass develop a living patina that deepens and warms. Oxidized and bronze finishes already look aged and change more slowly.

Can you make a custom size or cord length?
Yes. Every light is made to order in Fes. Contact us with what you need.

Is a bulb included?
Bulb and socket details are in each product description. Unless it says otherwise, the bulb is not included.

Do I need an electrician?
Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended for ceiling lights.

Where does it ship from?
Lights are hand-hammered to order in Fes and ship after 2 to 4 weeks in the workshop.
