A kitchen sink strainer in solid, unlacquered brass, polished to a bright, warm yellow: a wide, smooth round flange around a removable brass stopper basket with a ring of teardrop-shaped slots and a small round knob in the centre for lifting it out.

The basket catches food scraps while water drains and doubles as a stopper when you want to fill the basin. It fits standard 3-1/2 inch drain openings found on most US sinks, in a brass sink or a white fireclay one. Left unlacquered, the brass will soften to a natural patina with water and use.

Care and patina

Rinse and wipe dry after use to limit water spots. Unlacquered brass is a living metal: polish it with a brass polish to keep it bright, or let it mellow to a warm, soft patina over time. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. See our Care and Patina Guide for the full routine.

Will it fit my sink?
It fits standard 3-1/2 in drain openings, which most US kitchen sinks use. The flange is 4.5 in across. Contact us if you would like us to check your sink first.

What is included?
The brass flange, the removable stopper basket, the drain body, a rubber gasket, a nut and a screw.

Choosing a size. Each size is listed in the selector above. Measure the inside width and depth of your cabinet or counter cutout, and leave a little room around the sink for a clean fit.

Farmhouse sinks: check the base cabinet width and the front apron height before you order.
Vessel sinks: check the faucet height against the rim. A taller faucet or wall mount works best.
Bar and prep sinks: undermount and drop in installation are both possible.

Installing. Copper and brass are softer than steel, so use a plumber who is comfortable with them. Seal the rim with a neutral cure silicone and avoid harsh solvents on the finish.
